After a few days touring Barcelona we were ready for some beach time. The city’s beaches at Barceloneta were built for the 1992 Olympics. They’re loud, fun but very crowded. We decided to take a 35 minute train to Sitges where we found an incredible historic town, beautiful spacious beaches, gorgeous clear water and great restaurants.

The sign for the Bald Head Island ferry reads “getting there is half the fun”. That rings true for me because it takes me back to how travel used to be. Travelling via train, ferry, airplane even driving, travelling was an adventure. Then came travelling with young kids, followed by travelling in the post TSA world. Fact is travelling became a chore.
